With the inlcusion of a few sponsors we will have prizes for competitions and draws. Hence the name GGF (Good Gaming Fun) we are all about gaming and not just about playing the latest and greatest games. We also encourage gamers to play some of the older games for a few laughs. We are looking at rougly 70 gamers for the next Lan and looking to grow to over 100 in the near future.

Most Lans don't mention this gear but I think its good to let Lanners know what the network setup will be before arriving.

• 5x Gigabit Layer 2 switch's, A mix of Linksys and Dell, People do say these are massive overkill but they really arent.
• A Star network tapology using 1 core switch and 4 edge switchs and no nodes. This ensures there is no more than 2 hops from anyones computer on the network
• Network standards used are 802.3ad and 802.1D,
• Each edge switch will have a 4 port Link Aggregation group back to the core for maximum bandwidth and speed
• Spanning tree (802.1D) is enabled on all switchs for a loop free environment
• Various servers will be used including, DHCP server, DC Hub server, IIS web server and dedicated gaming server
